It's been a while since I've posted here. Been busy with work and teaching. But I'm back and balancing life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wanted to let everyone know that I'm teaching a new class at PranaShanti Yoga Centre in Hintonburg. It's called Restorative Yoga--the description is below. This class is for all bodies, shapes and sizes. And, it's a great way to balance your more yang or vigorous styles of yoga. Check it out!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Starts Monday, June 1 from 7:30pm to 9pm and will continue on Monday nights, same time, same place.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Namaste, Tracy&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;+++++++++++++++++++&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;Restorative Yoga&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The antidote to a fast-paced and stressful life is relaxation. Learning to relax is at the heart of living well. Restorative yoga teaches us a deeper level of rest and relaxation. Postures are modified using props and are held longer, with attention directed toward the breath. The use of props provides a completely supportive and safe environment for the body and mind to relax and release any tension or tiredness. Sequences are designed to move the spine in all directions. These movements improve flexibility, stimulate the organs, reduce muscle tension and renew energy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Restorative yoga is the balancing practice to more yang or vigorous styles of yoga, and is for people of all sizes, ages and fitness levels. I will be teaching Hatha Gentle on Mondays from 7:30pm to 9pm. Here is the class description. Everyone is welcome.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hatha Gentle&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rooted in Classical Hatha and Akhanda (holistic) yoga, this class is for those who are stiff and sore, who have injuries or illnesses, and who wish to explore yoga as a way to work through pain and manage health concerns. Taught from a "slow and low" approach, this practice is accessible to people of all sizes, shapes, ages and fitness levels. Classes focus on releasing stress, calming the mind and stretching and relaxing the body. Students will gain flexibility and balance through an exploration of modified postures and use of props. Classes also include pranayama (breathwork) and meditation to further ease the mind and body, as well as chanting to stimulate and harmonize the chakras. We will take a holistic approach to writing by including a combination of gentle and modified yoga postures, breathwork and meditation at the beginning and throughout each class as ways to invite contemplation, calm the mind and find focus as we turn memories into compelling narratives through writing exercises and assignments.
